Chashma

Meaning

A spring or fountain, the source from which fresh water wells up.

Literally: eye (source of water)

How Iqbal uses it

The chashma is the welling source, the fountainhead from which the stream is born, a figure for origin and the inner spring of life. It carries the sense of a pure beginning, the hidden source that feeds all that flows.
