Deewan

दीवान
also written: Diwan
Meaning

A collected body of a poet's verse, typically arranged by rhyme.

Usage & notes

The deewan is the gathered house of a poet's lifework; Iqbal's own collections in Urdu and Persian form such a corpus. He saw a poet judged by the coherence of his whole diwan, not a single line.
