इस्फ़न्दियार
said is-fan-di-yaar
also written: Isfandyar
Meaning

The brazen-bodied, near-invulnerable prince of the Shahnama, slain by Rustam with a double-pointed arrow to the eyes, his only vulnerable spot.

Usage & notes

Isfandiyar is the emblem of the seemingly invincible champion brought down through a single hidden weakness; poets use him for the hero whose one flaw undoes all his armour.
