Sirat
Inner character, moral nature, conduct of life.
Literally: the path; the straight way
The path, and pre-eminently the sirat-e-mustaqim, the "straight way" the believer prays to be guided along in the opening chapter of the Quran; in eschatology, also the bridge over Hell. As an image of right guidance it expresses the believer's quest for the true direction of life. Iqbal's spirituality reads such guidance dynamically — as a living orientation of the striving self toward God, not a static rulebook.
Ikhlaaq
Morals, character, ethics, good disposition.
Fitrah
The innate primordial nature on which every human being is created.
Surat
Face, countenance, form, or appearance.
Hidayat
Divine guidance leading a person to the right path.
Shariat
Islamic religious law derived from the Quran and the practice of the Prophet.
Deen
Religion as a whole, living way of life — deeper than mere creed.
