Surahi
A long-necked clay or metal pitcher for water.
Literally: long-necked wine flask
The surahi is the slender, long-necked flask from which wine is poured — a graceful furnishing of the wine-assembly and, in verse, an emblem of the gushing, melodious giving of grace (the gurgle of the pouring neck is itself a poetic motif). It stands beside the cup as part of the tableau of mystical drinking. The image is of grace poured generously and beautifully, never stintingly.
Ghada
A large earthen pot for storing water.
Lota
A small round water pot with a curved lip, of brass or steel.
Mina
A flask or decanter of wine, often of glass or enamelled ware.
Saaghar
A large wine-cup or bowl; emblem of the heart brimming with love's intoxication.
Sabu
An earthen wine-jar or pitcher; a common image in Persian and Urdu poetry.
