Arabic · noun · Spirit & the Divine

Wahdat

वहदत
said vah-dat
Meaning

Unity, oneness; the singularity of the Divine.

Usage & notes

Wahdat is unity, the oneness Iqbal celebrated in God and sought in the millat. Yet he sharply distinguished the unity that fortifies from the wahdat-ul-wujud that would erase all distinction into a single sea of being.
