The Interpretation
Iqbal's plea against division: lift the curtains that make us strangers, bring the parted back together, wipe out the very idea of 'us and them', the dui or two-ness. The longing is for a restored oneness beneath the differences people have built up.
For You, Today
Estrangement is a veil we keep hanging, not a permanent wall. Iqbal asks us to lift it and erase the two-ness that turns neighbours into strangers. Reunion is available the moment we decide difference isn't division.
