How Iqbal uses it

Dehqaan is the peasant, the tiller of the soil. Iqbal makes the peasant a great moral figure, the one whose labour feeds the world yet who is robbed of its fruit by landlord and tyrant. He summons the dehqaan to awaken and claim his harvest, treating the peasant's plight as a measure of a society's justice.
