said in-saa-ni-yat
also written: Insaniyat
Meaning

Humanity, humaneness, the quality of being truly human.

Literally: humanity; humaneness

Usage & notes

Insaaniyat is humanity, both the human race and the quality of being humane. Iqbal appeals to a brotherhood of all human beings that cuts across race, colour, and country, grounding it in the unity of God rather than in mere sentiment. He attacks whatever degrades the human person, from racism to exploitation, as an offence against insaaniyat.
