Meaning

Unveiling; the mystic disclosure of hidden realities to the purified heart.

Literally: unveiling; disclosure

Usage & notes

The unveiling of hidden realities to the heart — intuitive, supra-rational knowledge granted on the mystic path. Iqbal takes such inner experience seriously as a genuine source of knowledge, alongside sense and reason, and builds his philosophy of religion partly on it. But he insists this unveiled knowledge be tested and made fruitful in life, not hoarded as private ecstasy.
