Meaning
Death.
Literally: death
How Iqbal uses it
Marg is death (Persian). Iqbal distinguishes the death that ends a servile, heedless life from the death that crowns a life of conviction; the martyr's marg is a victory, while to live enslaved is a living death. He teaches the self to master the fear of death, for that fear is the lever by which tyrants rule.
