Usage & notes
Rashk is the jealousy of love — the lover's torment that the beloved's glance, word, or nearness might fall on anyone else. It is possessive longing turned to fire, the burning over a rival (raqeeb) or even over the breeze that touches the beloved's hair. In a finer sense rashk also means a thing so beautiful it makes others envious (rashk-e-qamar, the envy of the moon), beauty that puts even the heavens to shame.
