Sadaqat

Truthfulness, sincerity; conformity of word to fact.

Literally: truthfulness, sincere honesty

Sadaaqat is the settled habit of truth — honesty as a fixed quality of character rather than an occasional act. Iqbal values it as the bedrock of trust between people and as a sign of the integrated self, in which inner conviction and outward word are one. He ranks plainspoken truth above expedient flattery, treating sincerity as inseparable from real strength of soul.
