Usage & notes
Sidq is being true — saying what one means and being what one seems, with no gap between the heart and the tongue. Iqbal treats truthfulness as a structural virtue of the integrated self: deceit fractures the self, while sidq makes a person whole and trustworthy. He admires the courage of plain truth over the convenience of flattery, and reads honesty as inseparable from real faith.
