Persian · noun · Nature & the Garden

Sarchashma

सरचश्मा
said sar-CHASH-ma
Meaning

A fountainhead or source-spring; the origin from which water flows.

Literally: head-spring

Usage & notes

The sarchashma is the source, and Iqbal favours the metaphor of origin, the wellspring of life, light, or selfhood from which all streams of energy issue. To find one's sarchashma is to find one's true ground.
