Tanzeeh
The declaration of God's absolute transcendence above any likeness to creation.
Literally: declaring God transcendent / free of likeness
The theological affirmation of God's absolute transcendence — that He is utterly beyond and unlike His creation, free of body, place and resemblance. It is the counterpoise to tashbeeh (likening God to creatures). Iqbal's preference for a metaphysics that keeps Creator and creature distinct (as in wahdat-ush-shuhud) aligns with the impulse of tanzeeh to guard God's otherness.
Tashbih
Immanence; the recognition of God's likeness reflected in creation, balancing transcendence.
Tauheed
The oneness of God; the affirmation of strict monotheism.
Wahdaniyat
The absolute oneness and uniqueness of God.
Tashbeeh
Simile; an explicit comparison of one thing to another.
Wahdat-ush-Shuhood
The doctrine of the Unity of Witnessing, that the unity perceived is one of consciousness, not of being, leaving God and creation distinct.
