Usage & notes
Taranna is a song or chant, the source of the word tarana, an anthem. Iqbal himself is author of the famous Tarana-e-Hindi and Tarana-e-Milli, songs meant to bind and rouse a community. For him the anthem is poetry put to its highest civic use, the voice that gives a people a shared heart.
