Revelation — the direct communication of God to His prophets, the highest source of guidance, of which the Quran is the culminating instance. Iqbal regards prophetic revelation as a distinct and supreme mode of knowledge that opens reality beyond reason's reach, and he reflects on the "finality of prophethood" as marking the moment when humanity is summoned to stand on its own reason and inner experience under revelation's completed guidance.
