Literally: prophethood
Prophethood — the office of the prophets who convey God's revelation, sealed and completed in Muhammad (khatm-e-nabuwwat, the finality of prophethood). Iqbal gives this finality a philosophical reading: the end of prophecy signals humanity's coming of age, when reason, ijtihad and inductive inquiry must carry forward the guidance once given through prophets. The Prophet's example remains the living pattern of the perfected self.
Risalat
The office of a messenger sent by God with a revealed law.
Nabi
A prophet who receives revelation from God.
Wahy
Divine revelation as received by the prophets; the highest and infallible mode of God's communication.
Sunnat
The practice and example of the Prophet Muhammad, followed as a model of conduct.
