यकजेहती
said yak-jeh-tee
also written: Yakjihti, yakjehti, yakjihti, yak-jehti
Meaning
Solidarity, unity; oneness of purpose among a people.
Literally: unity, solidarity, oneness of purpose
Usage & notes
Yakjehti is unity — the solidarity that binds individuals into one purposeful body. Iqbal prizes the cohesion of the community (millat) as essential to its strength: scattered selves, however gifted, are weak, while a people united in faith and aim become a force. He treats this oneness of heart and purpose as the social counterpart of an integrated individual self.
