Baaraan
Rain, the water that falls from the clouds to quicken the earth.

Baaraan is the rain — the falling water of the cloud, classically the descent of mercy and bounty that revives the dead earth and brings the garden into bloom ('baaran-e-rahmat,' the rain of mercy). It is grace made liquid, longed for in drought. Iqbal uses the rain as the outpoured generosity that quickens the seed and the soul, the heaven's gift that turns barren ground green — the answer to the parched self's thirst.
