Bagaawat

बग़ावत
said ba-ghaa-vat
also written: Baghaawat, Baghawat
Meaning

Rebellion, revolt or insurrection against authority.

Literally: rebellion; revolt

Usage & notes

Baghaawat is rebellion or revolt against authority. Iqbal can speak of a noble revolt against falsehood, idols, and unjust power, the refusal of a free spirit to bow before what does not deserve obedience. Such defiance is virtue when aimed at zulm; it is sin only when it rebels against truth itself.
