Bardaasht

Tolerance, endurance, the capacity to bear and put up with hardship or difference.

Literally: Persian bardashtan, to lift up and bear: the bearing of a burden.

Bardasht is the everyday endurance and tolerance of the patient soul; in the moral tradition Iqbal draws on, the strong character carries trial and even provocation without buckling.
