Barg
A leaf, the green blade of the tree or plant.

Barg is the leaf — the green foliage of spring that falls and withers in autumn (the 'barg-e-khizan,' the autumn leaf), classical emblem of frailty, of the soul tossed by fate's wind, and of life's brief greening before the fall. The leaf at the wind's mercy is a figure of helplessness. Iqbal can use the windblown leaf for the self that drifts without will, set against the rooted tree and the self that holds firm against the storm rather than being scattered by it.
