Persian · adjective · The Heart & the Body

Be-chain

बेचैन
said be-chain
Meaning

Restless and uneasy, unable to find calm, the heart in agitated disquiet.

Literally: without ease, restless

Usage & notes

To be be-chain is to be robbed of all ease, the heart turning and fretting in unrest. Iqbal treats this restlessness as the worthy condition of the seeker, far better than the dull peace of one who has stopped longing.
