Ibrahim
इब्राहीम
said ib-raa-HEEM
also written: Ibraheem, Abraham, Khalilullah
Meaning
The prophet Abraham, revered in Islam as the patriarch of monotheism and the breaker of idols.
Usage & notes
Ibrahim is Iqbal's supreme symbol of iconoclastic faith, the man who smashed the idols and into whose fire God turned the flames to a garden of roses. He becomes the model of the believer whose conviction transforms the very fire meant to destroy him.
