Nimrood
नमरूद
said nam-ROOD
also written: Nimrod, Namrud
Meaning
The tyrant king who cast Abraham into the fire; the archetype of arrogant, godless power.
How Iqbal uses it
Iqbal sets Nimrood as the emblem of tyranny that builds the fire against faith, only to be defeated when God turns the blaze to a garden. The tyrant's pyre becomes the proof of the believer's triumph.
