said KUN
also written: kun, kun fa-yakun
Meaning

The divine command 'Be!' by which God calls creation into existence.

Literally: "Be!"

Usage & notes

The divine creative command "Be!" (kun) by which God brings things into existence ("He says to a thing, Be, and it is"). For Iqbal this word epitomizes creative power and pure will, and he holds it out as the believer's own potential: the realized self, near to God, partakes in a creativity that can summon new realities into being.
