Arabic · noun · Nation, Faith & Society

Khalq

ख़ल्क़
Meaning

Created beings; the people, the masses, mankind.

Literally: That which is created (from khalaqa, to create).

Usage & notes

Khalq lets Iqbal speak of the multitude as God's creation, owed justice and not exploitation. Service to the people becomes for him a form of devotion to their Creator.
