How Iqbal uses it
Deputy or representative — and in Iqbal's spiritual vocabulary the naib-e-haq or naib-e-ilahi, God's deputy on earth, his image of the perfected human being. The fully realized self does not lose itself in God but becomes His vicegerent, sharing in divine creativity and authority to order the world. This figure of the divine deputy crowns his ideal of khudi and the insaan-e-kamil.
