Sabaat is firmness — the stability that holds a person fixed in faith and purpose against pressure. Iqbal counts it among the strengths of the realised self: convictions worth holding must be held steadily, and a soul that wavers gains nothing. He admires the unshaken constancy that lets a believer stand his ground when the ground itself seems to shift.
