Consciousness, awareness, the faculty of perception and good sense.

How Iqbal uses it

Shu'oor is the awakening of the self to its own depth, a stage on the road to khudi. Iqbal prizes the deepening of consciousness but warns that bare awareness without love and action remains barren.
