How Iqbal uses it

Tegh is the sword or blade, a near-synonym of shamsheer drawn from Persian. In Iqbal's hands it becomes an image of cutting resolve, the edge of a will that will not bend to oppression. He honours the blade only when it serves truth and the freedom of man, never the appetite of conquerors.
