How Iqbal uses it

Fatah is victory or conquest, but its older sense is an 'opening' of what was closed. Iqbal prizes the fatah that opens a people's future and breaks the locks of servitude, distinguishing it sharply from the conqueror's plunder. True victory in his thought is moral and spiritual before it is military.
