Maashooq
The beloved, the one who is the object of passionate love (ishq).
Literally: the beloved, the one who is loved
Mashooq is the beloved — the object of ishq, the radiant indifferent one around whom the lover's whole world turns. Grammatically the passive partner of aashiq, the mashooq nonetheless holds all the power: beauty that need do nothing to command devotion. In the divine reading the Mashooq is God, the supremely Beloved who is sought by all and who, in turn, first loved the soul into being.
