Meaning
The well-meaning advisor or counsellor who urges prudence and restraint upon the lover.
Literally: advisor, one who counsels sincerely
Usage & notes
The naseh is the voice of cautious worldly wisdom that the lover, and Iqbal, gently or sharply rebuffs. His sensible counsel cannot reach a heart already given to love and the higher madness of the self.
