How Iqbal uses it

Najaat is deliverance or salvation, release from bondage and danger. Iqbal joins the religious sense of salvation to the worldly one of liberation, so that a people's rescue from servility becomes itself a sacred deliverance. Freedom of the soul and freedom of the nation are, for him, deeply of one piece.
