Salik

सालिक
said SAA-lik
also written: salik, saalik, wayfarer
Meaning

A traveler on the mystical path; the spiritual wayfarer under the guidance of a master.

Literally: traveller; wayfarer

Usage & notes

The wayfarer on the spiritual path — the one actively undertaking suluk. Iqbal's whole ethic of effort and movement is congenial to the figure of the salik who advances rather than rests, though he would have the journey lead to a self that builds and serves, not one that withdraws.
