Persian · phrase · Being & Non-Being

Hama-Az-Oost

हमा-अज़-ओस्त
said ha-maa-az-oost
also written: Hama Az Ust
Meaning

"All is from Him" — the formula affirming that creation emanates from God while remaining distinct from Him.

Literally: all is from Him

Usage & notes

Hama-az-oost, 'all is from Him,' is the corrective Iqbal set against pantheist hama-oost. It preserves the reality of the created self and world as proceeding from God without being identical with Him, the metaphysical ground of his philosophy of khudi.
