How Iqbal uses it

The paired virtues of submission (tasleem) to God's will and glad contentment (raza) with His decree — the heart's peaceful acceptance of destiny. Iqbal, however, distinguishes a living surrender from fatalism: true tasleem-o-raza for him is not passive resignation that excuses inaction, but an active trust that frees the self to strive boldly, accepting God's verdict only after exerting its utmost.
