Tauba
Repentance, the seeker's turning away from sin back toward God as the first station of the path.
Literally: repentance; turning back to God
Repentance — the sinner's turning back to God in remorse and resolve, met by God's mercy (al-Tawwab, the Ever-Relenting). It is the door of return always held open. In Iqbal's dynamic spirituality, tauba is less a one-time act than a continual reorientation of the self toward God, a renewal that frees the soul from the weight of failure and restores its forward motion.
Nafs-e-Lawwama
The self-reproaching soul that blames itself for wrongdoing and turns toward repentance.
Maqamaat
The successive stations of spiritual attainment a seeker earns through effort on the Sufi path.
Maghfirat
Divine forgiveness and pardon of sins.
