The Interpretation
The couplet inverts a common assumption — silence here is not emptiness but the cover for an overwhelming inner noise. The speaker stays quiet precisely because so much is happening within that speech could not contain it. The honesty of the admission is what makes it resonate: outward stillness as the face of inward storm.
For You, Today
Do not read another person's quiet as having nothing to say — the loudest minds often go the most silent.
A contemporary couplet that reframes silence as a symptom of an overcrowded mind rather than a calm one.
