How Iqbal uses it
Lauh is a tablet, and in the pairing lauh-o-qalam, the Tablet and the Pen, the very instruments by which destiny is written. Iqbal invokes them to claim that the awakened self can take hold of its own fate, even rewrite what seems fixed. The image fuses cosmic decree with human creative will.
