hua hai tujh se bichhadne ke baad ye maalum
ki tu nahin tha tire saath ek duniya thi

Only after parting from you did I come to know — it was not you alone; with you there was an entire world.

The Interpretation

The couplet locates the true scale of a loss only in hindsight: parting from one person turns out to have meant losing an entire world built around them. Routines, places, a way of seeing the days — all of it went when she went. It is an elegy not for a person but for the whole life that person quietly held together.

For You, Today

When someone leaves, expect to grieve more than them — the habits, the small world you shared — and let yourself name everything that has gone.

The verse endures because it captures a discovery almost everyone makes too late: that a person was also a place.
